Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh Everyone! We hope everything is going well for you. Today we share the IMPORTANCE OF HALAL AND HARAM IN ISLAM.
Being Muslims, we are apprehensive about what Haram is and what is halal in our daily lives. Thus today’s topic is crucial.
Everybody knows what is Halal and Haram in Islam, whether they are practicing Muslims or not.
This makes the distinction between Haram and halal in Islam crucial for us.
We must pay attention to what we eat, how we conduct ourselves, and how we go about our everyday lives to demonstrate that nothing we do is Haram and that everything is done in a halal manner.
We must therefore comprehend the significance of halal and Haram in Islam.
This essay will explain the significance of Haram and halal in Islam and highlight what is halal and prohibited.
CONCEPT OF HALAL AND HARAM IN ISLAM
Islam’s understanding of halal and Haram, On the whole, we may state that:
Halal is simply the Arabic term for permissible and recommended
Haram is just the Arabic term for sinful and unlawful.
The Arabic word halal means that something is allowed and legal. The Al-Qur’anic notion of halal is used to define things and behaviors.
Islam is a natural way of life that embraces the idea of an economic system built on human cooperation and brotherhood and based on dietary guidelines that apply to all people.
The Arabic word “halal” implies “permitted,” “authorized,” or “lawful.” Haram is its antithesis (forbidden, unlawful, or illegal).

CONCEPT OF HALAL AND HARAM IN SHARIAH
Halal and Haram in Shariah are essential concepts. Shariah dictates that you consult only the Holy Quran and Sunnah to determine if something is Halal or Haram, including any disagreements.
All parts of human life, whether they be connected to Ibadat (worship) or muamalat (worldly issues like business, trading, commerce transactions, loans, and borrowing contracts.
And civil acts or interactions under Islamic law), or muasharah, are subject to halal and Haram (the way he treats others).
An act, item, or halal conduct might be characterized as something the individual controls. By reference to the presumption of permissibility or by explicit Shariah evidence, halal may have been determined (Ibadah).

UNDERSTANDING IMPORTANCE OF HALAL AND HARAM IN ISLAM FROM THE QURAN AND SUNNAH
It is only Allah’s right to determine what is halal and what is Haram. Some of what Allah forbids can be made halal by some people, whereas some of what Allah permits can be made Haram by others.
- Some individuals devise worship practices that Allah has forbidden and has not prescribed.
- Religion’s fundamental tenet is that what is halal is what Allah and His Messenger have authorized, and what is Haram is what Allah and His Messenger have forbidden.
- Religion is what has been ordained by Allah and His Messenger.
- No one has the right to deviate from the Straight Path that Allah gave His Messenger. (Interpretation of what Allah says)
- And undoubtedly, this is My straight route; follow it and avoid any other paths since they will divert you from His way.
This is what He has planned for you so that you can attain Al-Muttaqun (righteousness). (An’am 6:153)
- These included haram (unlawful) behaviors that they transformed into acts of worship, such as shirk (worshipping others as Allah) and obscene acts like performing Tawaf around the Kabbah while naked, etc.
Regarding Halal and Haram, the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) stated the following in a Hadith:
“Indeed, there are doubtful topics between the lawful (Halal) and the prohibited (Haram), about which many people are ignorant. As a result, a person who stays away from shady situations is clear regarding their faith and honor.
In contrast, a person involved in shady conditions will end up in lawlessness, like a shepherd who pastures close to a temple but merely grazes there.
Every monarch has a sanctuary, and the sanctuary of Allah is his prohibition, as is proper.
Indeed, there is a piece of flesh in the body that, if healthy, makes the entire body healthy; if unhealthy, it makes the whole body unhealthy. It is the heart, for sure. (Sahih Bukhari).

THINGS THAT ARE HALAL IN ISLAM
Regarding what Muslims are not allowed to do, Allah Almighty said in the Quran:
“O you who have believed, eat from the good things which We have supplied for you and be grateful to Allah if [in fact] He is whom you worship.
He has only forbidden you from eating things like blood, swine flesh, dead animals, and anything sacrificed to deities other than Allah.
Whoever is compelled, however, without desiring it or going beyond its bounds, is not guilty of sin. Allah is indeed Merciful and Forgiving. (Quran, 2:172-173)
These words are frequently used to refer to food items, meat items, personal care items, cosmetics, medications, food ingredients, and contact materials.
While many items are halal or haram, some things are not.
In Islam, food is regarded unless expressly forbidden by the Quran or Hadith.
According to the official definition, halal foods are those that are devoid of any ingredients that Muslims are prohibited from consuming in accordance with Islamic law (Shariah).
Used utensils, machinery, and equipment cleaned in accordance with Islamic law while processed, made, produced, manufactured, or stored.

BENEFITS OF EATING HALAL ITEMS
- IT IS SAFER
Halal-certified meat always prioritizes food safety and sanitation, lowering the possibility of food contamination.
Farmers who raise halal meat abstain from using the antibiotics and pesticides that many other profit-driven farms use. Halal food has an extremely low incidence of contamination and food sickness.
The halal meat farmer is required by Islamic Law to be cautious about contamination or cross-infection.
The blood must be entirely drained from the carcass during the Islamic slaughtering process to fresher meat free of pathogen infestation.
- BOOST METABOLISM
The second health benefit has something to do with our body’s metabolism.
You are assuring that the food you consume is nutrient-rich and of the highest caliber is one of the most important steps you can take to take care of your health.
Our bodies’ immune systems, brains, and metabolism are all improved by halal beef, lamb, and chicken.
When your metabolism is powerful, it absorbs all nutrients and expels all toxins from your body, which is a significant advantage when taking care of your health.
- BETTER IN TASTE
Do you know that, besides being healthier, halal meat has a terrible flavor and is more susceptible to putrefaction than meat without blood?
Halal meat is considered to be more beneficial than conventional meats and tastier. Because there is no blood present, the meat is softer and has a more incredible flavor.
Halal meat is immune to bacteria due to the absence of blood.
- GREATER HYGIENE
The key to keeping a healthy life is healthy food hygiene. It also meets the most stringent requirements for halal beef.
Farmers and butchers who slaughter the meat must follow this essential standard. When being raised, animals are fed nutritious, healthy meals. It is forbidden to kill any animal that develops ill or is unfit.
- REMOVE STRESS HORMONES
When they are being raised, every animal is given loving care and respect. No animal may be slain while there are other living creatures around.
This aids in minimizing the stress that the animals experience during the killing process.
Additional health advantages result from the animal’s reduced stress-related hormone production, which has the potential to alter the meat it produces.
- NEGATIVE EFFECTS OF PRACTICING HARAM
THERE IS A CHANCE THAT YOU WILL NOT BE GRANTED. You will have your Dua denied if you consume haram food. Because Allah is Good, He does not accept anything but Good.
- ALLAH WILL BE ANGRY WITH YOU
If you slaughter an animal in the name other than Allah, He will be furious with you. Islam categorically forbids slaughter in any name than Allah (Haram).
- THE LOSS OF NOOR ON THE FACE
Someone who engages in actions consistently considered Haram and banned by Islam risks losing Noor on their face. Because he obeys Allah’s instructions and has never come close to Haram, a pious Muslim has a radiant appearance.

CONCLUSION
Every Muslim must understand that Allah knows what is best for us, although we cannot determine what is best for us. Muslims are free to make their options, but those choices, in contrast to those made by God, are not in their best interests.
We decide what seems right, and God decides what is suitable for us. The distinction is this.
It is, therefore, up to you to determine if you want what is beneficial for you or what looks good on you.
Muslims, who believe in God, act by his commands and refrain from doing what he forbids because they have complete faith in his judgment because he is Omniscient.
We pray that Allah will accept our meager efforts, Ameen.
